| In the past two weeks I ...
got married traveled to Tennessee for a week moved to a new apartment in a new city changed my name had a (mildly) flooded apartment (only in our bedroom, and they're "working" on fixing it) got in a car accident (I'm okay ... but my car has over $4,000 worth of damage ... that is more than the car is worth ... so now it's time to find a new car ... it was the other girls' fault - she backed out of her parking spot in our apartment lot without looking right as I drove by, and then proceeded to step on the gas instead of the brake because she basically flipped out) bought a keyboard for my husband (with wedding money =) ) created joint bank accounts went to a graduation party for my new sister-in-law realized that being ultimately responsible for everything in your life now, in conjunction with another life, is quite difficult also realized that dads are excellent for giving advice on anything, and everything seems better after talking to Dad
I'm busy with life, but basically doing all right. The job search is tough. I'm thankful for the part time job that I have (stressful as it may be), but I'm worried about paying all our expenses and not having insurance ... so something full time (ideally with some benefits) would be nice. We're making it work for now, though. And I enjoy being wifely. It's sometimes more work than one would expect, but Michael is wonderful in helping with anything ... except now that we got an awesome deal on cable (so we could have Internet here), he often gets distracted with all the movie channels we have! But then again, so do I. =)
Despite the ups and downs ... to answer the MOST common question we have gotten in the past few days: "The newlyweds are doing great and married life is treating us well."
As soon as this apartment gets fixed up and cleaned up ... we're definitely having some sort of "party" with friends.

| Wow - so much has happened since my last entry!
Only 3 weeks til the wedding! It's hard to believe it's finally so close. And there's still so many things to do. We have lots of little details to work out now ... this wedding is going to be spectacular! And everything is working out perfectly. My dress is amazing - the only alterations it needed was a hem! We found the perfect way to do my hair (actually something different from in my last entry - I went back for a second trial and we changed our minds). We're working on figuring out my makeup. Everything's coming along smoothly. =)
We got the apartment about two weeks ago. It has been insane moving stuff in, unpacking, getting everything all set up. Michael is living there now, but I'm not moving in til after the wedding ... so I'm in this really weird transition stage of living in two places at the same time. I work, go over to the new apartment and get things done, and then come back to my townhouse late at night to sleep. Strange and difficult living situation.
In other exciting news, I'm getting my wisdom teeth out on Monday. Which I'm actually almost happy for, because they hurt right now and I just want them gone! Not looking forward to the recuperation stage, though. And it's such a busy time, too ... running out of time - this wedding will be here before I know it!
Well, I must go shower, lunch, work, and wedding plan now. More some other time.

| Breaking away from the usual and updating again already!
Spring break has been wonderful so far! My room at my parents' house is officially devoid of my belongings - all stuff is now packed in boxes and put in the basement for safekeeping until we get our apartment. It's kinda weird ... but nice, too. Packing it all up was an interesting trip down memory lane - lots of old pictures, papers from high school, clothes from years ago, and tons of junk! I threw away two full (very large) garbage bags of stuff and I'm donating two full bags of clothing to Good Will (or somewhere similar). There was a lot of stuff in this room. Lots of good memories in all that stuff, too. =)
I got my hair done today - and now I know what I want for the wedding! My cousin is being amazing and paying for all my hair expenses. It was kinda fun to go get it done today (took an hour and a half!) and not have to pay anything. =) I definitely had some older men hitting on me as I walked in the mall too while heading to the salon - interesting time! Creepy men in groups are trouble.
I haven't seen Michael since Sunday ... and I miss him quite a lot. The great thing is, he'll be here tomorrow night! I can't wait to be married so we can just be together all the time. Life would be much simpler.
Well ... I have a big day full of more wedding stuff tomorrow, so I'm headed to bed! G'night!

| I seem to only update about once a month now.
I am officially on my spring break right now - finally! The college spring break time seems so much better than the area school districts ... it felt like forever to get to now. After break I will have only 3 weeks left of student teaching! And then I'll graduate ... this is crazy! I can't believe how fast it's going.
Exciting new news - Michael and I have our apartment! It's pretty much a done deal - we got exactly what we wanted (first floor with a walkout/patio and view of the pond, two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, 1100 square feet, they pay everything but electric, no charge for my dog, and all for only $649 a month!) - it's pretty perfect! Michael is set to move in on May 1st, and I'll get all my furniture put in and make sure it's all ready and looking good for after the wedding, when we finally get to start our new life together!
This past weekend I had my West Michigan bridal shower - tons of fun! And I got lots of cool stuff. A couple more weeks and it'll be time for the East Michigan/home bridal shower. It's hard to believe!
I'm heading back home for my spring break so I can get some wedding planning done - I have a trial hair appointment, a dress fitting, a flower shop appointment ... oh, and many various other wedding things crammed into the one short week that I'll be home. I will be packing my life away - all my stuff at my parents' house will be packed up while I'm there so that my furniture can be brought out here in May. It's kinda sad. But I don't really feel like I live there anymore anyway ... over the past four years, I've probably lived there for a total of about 6 months! (if that)
Yikes! So many big things coming up so fast. I'm gonna be an "old married woman" before I know it!
Hope everyone who reads this is doing well. I'll end with a picture from my bridal shower. =)
This is me with my bridesmaids.
And I just really love this picture of me and Michael! =)

| I am unbelievably busy. Student teaching is much work. I adore (most of) my kids though! It's going well ... I'm at the point where it's very comfortable for me to be teaching and I don't really stress about it - I just have tons to do all the time!
Plus, I've been working at the Child Development Center still ... but now that I've taken over planning and everything in 5th grade, I'm taking a break from preschool. My boss is graciously giving me the next 8 weeks off so I can focus on teaching, and then I can come back to work and work many more hours after student teaching is done!
Wedding plans are moving quickly - there's so much to do now! Michael and I are applying for our apartment - the one that we really want ... hopefully everything will work out alright, cuz money is tight right now so we'll have to work around their income requirements for applying. I'm very excited about it though! Michael will move in the first of May and we can start setting up furniture and such there, and then I'll move in after the wedding!
We are also scheduling our pre-marital counseling soon with my pastor ... fun stuff. Invitations are being ordered. My first bridal shower is in about 3 weeks! Things have already been bought off our registry -- so exciting! Almost every one of my weekends between now and the wedding is booked! There's so much to do! I need to remember to stay calm and not stress out. =)
I also need to remember to stay focused on my work and not get distracted on Xanga.
